We are often presented with a one size fits all version of democracy, but the key is looking at what democracy means to different people and operating from there, from the ground up. From what people want, translated into a Democracy that works for them.

Because democracy doesn’t only live in institutions and elections, it resides in the everyday actions of people, in all their diversity. Diversity of voices, opinions and ideas, that is the beauty of democracy. In a thriving, inclusive democracy, it works like a table where everyone gets a seat.

That is why NIMD supports people across the political ecosystem and stands for democracy, in all its shades and diversity.

Spanning countries, languages and dialects, the participants in this campaign shared exactly that.
