The Participation of Women in Regional and Municipal Elections in Venezuela in 2021

On November 21, 2021, Venezuela held regional and local elections in a complex political, economic, and social context. 

This policy paper analyzes the participation of women in those regional and municipal elections, looking specifically at whether women who do enter politics in Venezuela are able to reach executive positions at regional and municipal levels.
