Challenges for gender equality and the participation of women in decision-making spaces in Venezuela

Promoting women’s involvement in political processes is vital for achieving an inclusive democracy. The Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD) is dedicated to ensuring that women across society have equal opportunities to engage in political decision-making. In line with this commitment, NIMD has actively contributed to the Ellas también Participan project in Venezuela. The project aims to stimulate and strengthen women’s participation in decision-making spaces and processes of transformation and conflict resolution. NIMD provides support, training, and encourages collaboration to integrate the gender agenda into these spaces. As part of this initiative, NIMD developed the Cycle of Forums titled “Challenges for gender equality and women’s participation in decision-making spaces in Venezuela,” addressing key issues and advancing the goal of women’s active involvement in political spheres.
