NIMD has appointed two new members to its management team: Karijn de Jong and Wouter Dol. As of 1 April of this year, they join Hans Bruning (Executive Director) and Miranda Buitelaar (Head of Team Finance & Support) on the management team.

Head of Team Programmes & Projects: Karijn de Jong
Karijn de Jong is the Head of the Programmes & Projects team. She has worked at NIMD for ten years as Senior Programme Manager. From 2013 until now, she was also Team Leader of Strategy and Fundraising within NIMD. In that role she worked on formulating NIMD’s long-term strategy and coordinated several funding proposals for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Before NIMD, Karijn has worked for the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and the European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM).

Head of Team Knowledge & Strategic Relations: Wouter Dol
Wouter Dol is Head of the Knowledge & Strategic Relations team. He started at NIMD in 2009 as political advisor and has been a Programme Manager since 2011. He was the driving force behind the development of NIMD’s Theory of Change, the primary methodology that NIMD uses when implementing its country programmes, and he worked on the Gender Equality and Inclusion agenda of NIMD. Before NIMD, Wouter has worked for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Taking NIMD to the next level
Hans Bruning: “Karijn and Wouter bring a lot of in-house experience and, at the same time, new energy to the management team. I am really happy that they will join Miranda Buitelaar and myself in taking NIMD to the next level. The new management and structure of our organization will help NIMD to increase its efficiency and flexibility levels in order to meet changing donor demands and maintain its position as one of the top providers of multi-party dialogue expertise.”
