De Russische aanvalsoorlog toont aan dat autoritair bewind een wereldwijd veiligheidsprobleem is voor staten, bedrijven en mensen overal ter wereld. Ondersteuning van de democratie moet een Europese strategische prioriteit zijn.<\/p>\n<p>NIMD en 16 andere democratie- en mensenrechtenorganisaties - die samenwerken met de\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/epd.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Europees partnerschap voor democratie\u00a0<\/a>- hebben samengesteld\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/epd.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/epd-recommendations-on-ukraine-2022-03-24.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10 aanbevelingen voor een Europees antwoord<\/a>\u00a0aan deze aanval op Oekra\u00efne en de democratie.<\/p>\n<p>We roepen de EU-instellingen en Europese regeringen op om op korte termijn op de crisis te reageren met een op democratie gerichte aanpak en op lange termijn een veel strategischer aanpak te ontwikkelen om democratie wereldwijd te ondersteunen.<\/p>\n<p>Hiervoor hebben we twee reeksen uitvoerbare aanbevelingen:<\/p>\n<p><b>Reageer op de crisis met een op democratie gerichte aanpak<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>De democratische instellingen van Oekra\u00efne versterken<\/li>\n<li>Investeren in het Oekra\u00efense maatschappelijk middenveld<\/li>\n<li>Steun onafhankelijke mediaorganisaties en journalisten in Oekra\u00efne<\/li>\n<li>Ondersteunende factoren voor verandering in Rusland en Wit-Rusland<\/li>\n<li>Oekra\u00efne, Georgi\u00eb en Moldavi\u00eb een zinvol EU-lidmaatschapsperspectief bieden zonder de democratie te kort te doen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Zorg ervoor dat democratie een hoeksteen is van de geopolitieke strategie<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maak van democratie een strategische topprioriteit in het buitenlands beleid<\/li>\n<li>De democratie in eigen land versterken<\/li>\n<li>Steun het werk en de integriteit van onafhankelijke journalisten en mediaorganisaties om desinformatie tegen te gaan<\/li>\n<li>Corruptie en kleptocratie bestrijden<\/li>\n<li>Gebruik Team Europe Democracy om de co\u00f6rdinatie te verbeteren<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/epd.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/epd-recommendations-on-ukraine-2022-03-24.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lees de volledige verklaring hier<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We bevinden ons op een kritiek punt voor de toekomst van de Europese Unie en de democratie wereldwijd.
