Het land was lange tijd bezet door een vreemde mogendheid, maar is sinds kort een onafhankelijke staat. Tijdens de bezetting zijn er verschillende groepen ontstaan, elk met hun eigen achtergrondverhalen en politieke belangen. <\/em><em>Democratia heeft van de internationale gemeenschap 2 jaar de tijd gekregen om een meerpartijendemocratie te vestigen met stabiele instellingen die de rechtsstaat respecteren.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Dit was de uitdaging die 23 Democracy School-studenten uit Kirgizi\u00eb, Moldavi\u00eb, Oekra\u00efne en Georgi\u00eb kregen bij de lancering van Democratia, het politieke bordspel van het NIMD: samenwerken en vanuit het niets een meerpartijenstelsel opzetten.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8064\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8064\" style=\"width: 512px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8064\" src=\"http:\/\/nimd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/DSC_1016-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"339\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8064\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Spelers werken in teams en moeten ervoor zorgen dat hun partij het belangrijkste beleid door een coalitieregering loodst.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Met behulp van de vaardigheden die werden opgedaan na een week training in politieke ideologie\u00ebn, democratische instellingen en dialoogtechnieken werkten de spelers in teams om ervoor te zorgen dat de standpunten van hun partij werden opgenomen in de eerste grote coalitie van Democratia. Van het repareren van stralingslekken tot het omgaan met dorpen in opstand, de teams moesten regeren op basis van de waarden van hun partij, terwijl ze de consensus moesten smeden die een stabiele regering zou opbouwen.<\/p>\n<p>Democratia is in feite een zeer effectief hulpmiddel om leerlingen van de Democratieschool te laten zien hoe partijen effectief kunnen samenwerken in een meerpartijenomgeving. Net als in echte verkiezingen moeten partijen een evenwicht vinden tussen hun kernwaarden, belangrijkste kiezersgroepen en politieke rivalen. Tegelijkertijd moeten ze hun positie in de regering behouden en de dagelijkse beleidsvorming in goede banen leiden. Samen moeten de Democratia-spelers goed nadenken, politiek gekibbel vermijden en soms rekenen op een gelukkige worp van de dobbelsteen.<\/p>\n<p>De realiteit van leren over werken in een democratie is dat het gaat om het opbouwen van praktische vaardigheden. Soms werken lezingen, boeken en discussies niet; je moet in de huid kruipen van politici en kijken hoe je met verschillende situaties kunt omgaan.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8065\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8065\" style=\"width: 512px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8065\" src=\"http:\/\/nimd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/DSC_0951-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"339\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8065\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Van het omgaan met een olieschok tot het veiligstellen van internationale hulp, de teams moesten onderhandelen met andere partijen terwijl ze te maken kregen met verschillende problemen uit de echte wereld.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Na de offici\u00eble lancering in Georgi\u00eb deze week, kijken we ernaar uit om de Democratia-uitdaging naar onze andere scholen voor democratie over de hele wereld te brengen.
