Vandaag viert NIMD Internationale Vrouwendag<\/a>wordt elk jaar gehouden ter ere van de sociale, economische, culturele en politieke prestaties van vrouwen.<\/p>\n

Het thema van dit jaar, \"Wees moedig voor verandering<\/a>\"is een oproep om een betere werkwereld te cre\u00ebren, een wereld met meer gelijkheid en echte integratie. Het roept in het bijzonder op tot baanbrekende actie die echte verandering voor vrouwen teweegbrengt.<\/p>\n

Via onze programma's legt NIMD de nadruk op inclusiviteit en streeft ernaar dat vrouwen gelijke toegang hebben tot politieke vertegenwoordiging, participatie en leiderschap.<\/p>\n

Voor ons bij NIMD betekent een inclusieve democratie dat alle burgers zich vertegenwoordigd moeten voelen en gehoord moeten worden. Daarbinnen betekent echte gelijkheid dat alle burgers toegang moeten hebben tot een gelijk speelveld en op gelijke voet toegang moeten hebben tot machtsstructuren.<\/p>\n

En helaas hebben we nog een lange weg te gaan. Volgens VN Vrouwen<\/a>In juni 2016 was slechts 22,8% van alle vertegenwoordigers in nationale parlementen vrouw. Bovendien wordt in de ontwikkelde wereld slechts 30% van de ministeries geleid door een vrouw en maken vrouwen slechts 16,5% uit van de ministers van Economie, Defensie, Financi\u00ebn, Buitenlandse Zaken en Binnenlandse Zaken.<\/p>\n

Daarom is het naar onze ervaring niet voldoende om een plaats aan tafel voor vrouwen en andere gemarginaliseerde groepen te bevorderen. Daarom willen we inclusiviteit bereiken door politici te helpen bij het werken aan nationale wetgeving, door met politieke partijen te werken aan hun interne partijreglementen en door een open politieke cultuur te bevorderen.<\/p>\n
