A Youth Advocacy Toolkit for Political Participation in East Africa

This toolkit offers a guide for youth advocates working to turn political commitments into real change. It walks Youth Ambassadors, youth in political parties, youth-led organizations and National Working Group focal points through setting priorities, building a clear advocacy strategy, engaging the people who can actually act, and following through once commitments are made. It draws on lessons from youth movements in Nigeria, Liberia and the UK, and includes guidance for advocating in political contexts that are more volatile or restricted, since implementation rarely happens in ideal conditions. It sits alongside the Routekaart voor jongeren in de politiek in Oost-Afrika, translating its regional vision into a working framework for advocacy on the ground.
