Como Asesor de Innovaci\u00f3n, est\u00e1 all\u00ed para descubrir las \u00faltimas ideas e invenciones que pueden ayudarnos a utilizar la tecnolog\u00eda para impulsar la democracia. Cada d\u00eda compartir\u00e1 las lecciones aprendidas y las historias de las personas que ha conocido durante su estancia en T\u00fanez. Esta elecci\u00f3n se bas\u00f3 principalmente en mi convicci\u00f3n personal de que la ciudad se convertir\u00e1 en la unidad pol\u00edtica m\u00e1s importante del futuro, y no el Estado naci\u00f3n, que cada vez nos falla m\u00e1s. Por lo tanto, me alegro de que el NIMD, junto con <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vng-international.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">VNG Internacional<\/a> prepara ahora un proyecto que se centrar\u00e1 en la infraestructura pol\u00edtica de ciudades de tres pa\u00edses diferentes.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8568\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8568\" style=\"width: 512px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8568\" src=\"http:\/\/nimd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/digital-identity-presentation-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"341\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8568\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dicen que nada dura para siempre, pero su proveedor de Internet no est\u00e1 de acuerdo...<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed que pens\u00e9: \"Ciudades inteligentes\": vamos a por ello. Pero, como he admitido antes, no soy un nativo digital, \u00a1lo siento! - as\u00ed que me sorprendi\u00f3 saber que el t\u00e9rmino \"ciudad inteligente\" significaba algo muy distinto de lo que yo pensaba. En realidad se refiere a una forma de capitalismo de vigilancia. Un n\u00famero cada vez mayor de ayuntamientos de todo el mundo parecen estar creando asociaciones p\u00fablico-privadas para el desarrollo de partes del entorno urbano que gobiernan, desde Internet hacia arriba. As\u00ed que, de hecho, las ciudades inteligentes son proyectos impulsados por los datos que traen consigo los problemas habituales con respecto a la privacidad, la propiedad de los datos y la rendici\u00f3n de cuentas, no s\u00f3lo de las empresas tecnol\u00f3gicas, sino tambi\u00e9n de los gobiernos municipales.<\/p>\n<p>Se debatieron varios ejemplos, entre ellos el caso de los planes desarrollados tanto por el Gobierno de Berl\u00edn como por Google para el famoso distrito de Kreuzberg, que incluso antes de realizarse hicieron que los alquileres de las viviendas aumentaran en 20%. Como los vecinos, unos 150.000 y conocidos por su izquierdismo, no fueron consultados en absoluto, se reunieron bajo el lema \"F*** Off Google\" y <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/cities\/2018\/may\/09\/fuck-off-google-the-berlin-neighbourhood-fighting-off-a-tech-giant-kreuzberg\">ech\u00f3 a la empresa de Kreutzberg<\/a>. Pero, como se\u00f1al\u00f3 un participante alem\u00e1n, la empresa tecnol\u00f3gica no se retir\u00f3 realmente, sino que se fue a otro sitio, con la bendici\u00f3n del Gobierno de Berl\u00edn.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>El resto de la sesi\u00f3n se centr\u00f3 en c\u00f3mo \"civilizar\" este tipo de proyectos y hacerlos m\u00e1s transparentes, inclusivos, \u00e9ticos, etc., as\u00ed como en exigir responsabilidades a las empresas tecnol\u00f3gicas y a los gobiernos municipales. Lo que se ve a menudo es que 21<sup>st<\/sup> fen\u00f3menos del siglo XXI, como las ciudades inteligentes, pueden prosperar en entornos jur\u00eddicos del 19<sup>th<\/sup> siglo. Por eso, lo que m\u00e1s me impresion\u00f3 fue el concepto de \"Open Smart Cities\" desarrollado por la organizaci\u00f3n canadiense <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opennorth.ca\/publications\/\">OpenNorth<\/a>.
