Indonesia: democracy forum installed
On 14 June 2007 seven political parties established an inclusive forum to promote democratic values in Indonesia.
The idea for the Indonesian Political Parties Dialogue Community came about after the parties met with NIMD in The Hague, last April.
An NIMD mission consisting of President of the Board Mr Ben Bot, Executive Director Mr Roel von Meijenfeldt, the Dutch Labour MP Mr Harm Waalkens and policy officer Mr Will Derks, met with the leadership of the Indonesian parties during a visit to Jakarta from 13 to 20 June 2007.
