When three government Ministers from Burundi were in Netherlands last week, they met with Dutch politicians at the NIMD offices in The Hague.

On the occasion of the visit to their three Dutch counterparts, the Burundian Ministers Nsanze (Foreign Affairs), Niyokanyane (Defence) and Bunyoni (Public Security) also requested a meeting with Dutch politicians to discuss cooperation between the two countries.

NIMD hosted the meeting, a two-hour long discussion in which the Ministers exchanged views with Member of Parliament Harm Evert Waalkens (PvDA, Dutch Labour Party), CDA international affairs expert Jos van Gennip and NIMD's political advisor Sam van der Staak (VVD).

On the agenda were a variety of issues, including Burundi's upcoming elections, the development of political parties and thorny issues such as budget support.
