NIMD and IDASA, together with the Forum of African former Heads of State and Government founders of iLEDA (the initiative for Leadership and Democracy in Africa), are starting the iLEDA School Citizen Leadership Programme in Mozambique. The programme sets off with a Training-of-Trainers (ToT) course on 8 September 2009 in Chimoio, Manica province.

The ToT-course aims to establish a group of skilled Mozambican trainers that are familiar with the iLEDA School methodology. After the successful completion of their training, they will start facilitating iLEDA School Citizen Leadership trainings in Mozambique. Through this programme, community leaders will learn how to engage with (local) politicians and councillors to effectively address issues that are of relevance for their community and will also be trained to actively take part in politics.
