Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy

The Conference, which was opened by His Excellency the Vice-President of the United Republic of Tanzania, the Honourable Dr. Mohammed Gharib Bilali,brought together representatives of political parties from 11 countries: Burundi; Ghana; Kenya; Malawi; Mali; Mozambique; South Sudan; Tanzania; Tunisia; Uganda; and Zimbabwe. It provided a unique forum for NIMD and its partners to discuss the increasing importance of money in politics, share experiences on the various models of party financing and identify best practice on its regulation, modalities, and enforcement mechanisms.
