• NIMD supported the seven largest political parties in Georgia in developing strategic plans in order to strengthen their organizational capacity, policy analysis capacities and internal democracy;
• A comprehensive strategic planning exercise was conducted with the Georgian Central Election Commission;
• The NIMD Georgia office launched its first Democracy School in Telavi, Kakheti region;
• Several policy reform papers have been produced and debated with political parties and civil society.
• The NIMD Georgia office established the Multiparty Taskforce on Gender Equality, focusing on intra-party reforms and inter-party cooperation in order to support an increased women’s participation in Georgia’s political life;
• In advance of the parliamentary elections, NIMD launched the website partiebi.ge. The website offered citizens the chance to compare the electoral programmes of all major political parties on 21 different policy themes (more than 10.000 unique visitors);
• NIMD helped its political partners to implement their strategic plans and to formulate their electoral programmes;
• Management trainings were given to the Central Election Commission, and a study trip to the Netherlands was organized for its Board Members;
• After having launched a successfull democracy education pilot in Telavi, NIMD established three other Democracy Schools in Kutaisi, Gori and Batumi;
• The Georgia country office succeeded in substantially (60%) diversifying its funding by signing five additional contracts with international donors.
